Take Action: Visit the EdTech Action Network Web Site

On this web site you will find much info about issues that are important to folks in education who are interested in advancing the use of technology. Here are just a few of the items that should interest FACE members.
  • Info on how to become a member of the Action Network
  • An Action Center--this segment offers info on ed tech issues that are "hot" nationally, the two most important currently being the E2T2 Grant funding that Congress is considering cutting dramatically and the E-Rate Program.
  • This site facilitates the preparation of a letter to a member of congress on these or other issues and enables the person accessing the site to identify their representatives in Congress and their email and U.S. Mail addresses.
  • The Action Center will soon have a component that will allow states to enter issues that are significant in their state and similar to the national segment, provide info on state legislators and will facilitate contacting them also.
  • There is a segment called "Advocacy Basics" which allows one to obtain info on the most effective ways to communicate with members of Congress or the State Legislature.
  • The Position Papers segment provides info on significant issues as seen by ISTE and CoSN. There is a good one on the E-Rate program that would probably interest folks who are not real familiar with it.
